The 2007 Budget will see a rise in both still and sparkling wine.

Gordon Brown today announced a bigger than usual increase on wine. Still wines will rise by 5p a bottle to £1.34/bottle, while sparkling wine has risen by 7p a bottle to an eye watering £1.72p / bottle. This is not the first time Gordon Brown has raised the duty on sparkling wine in all his last ten budgets he has raised the duty on sparkling wine by 22p and 33p on still wine.
