2007 Aussie wine exports grew more by value than volume
Australian wine exports went up more by value than by volume last year. According to figures from the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation, export values increased 6% to A$3 billion (£1.35bn), while volumes grew 3% to 785 million litres.
The value growth of A$178 million (£80m) for wine exports was the largest since 2004 and was driven by a 3% increase in the average price of Australian wine to A$3.83 (£1.72) per litre. However, the volume growth of 26 million litres was the smallest since 1997.
The UK is still the top destination for Australian wine exports by value and volume. Some 290 million litres came here last year, worth nearly A$985 million (£443m).
