Cloudy Bay starts producing Pinot Noir from Otago
Iconic New Zealand wine producer Cloudy Bay is launching its first Central Otago Pinot Noir, called Te Wahi. The wine will be unveiled at the annual World Pinot Noir tasting on 8 September in Marlborough. Cloudy Bay started working with growers in Central Otago in 2009 sourcing fruit from three hectares of vineyards but hopes to plant its own vineyards there by 2013. The new wine is a 2010 vintage and only 1,000 cases will be released at a retail price of NZ$70-80 to be marketed in New Zealand, Australia and the UK.
