UK Wine Show 81 Tasting Buddy with Paul Fitzpatrick
This show was published 14 December 2007
Tasting Buddy is a tool to help the trade manage the flow of information from producer to consumer. The main focus for Tasting Buddy as a business is in publishing e-catalogues of wines being tasted at trade or consumer shows. It lets users search for wines against basic criteria such as grape variety or country.
Tasting Buddy was piloted this year at the London Wine & Spirit Fair for Wine Australia. They created an e-catalogue on the stand to allow visitors to navigate and find wines from Australian producers. Producers can input their profile and notes for each wine but at present no imagery. All information gathered is freely available to those who want to listen. The concept was originally designed to allow subscribers to write and keep tasting notes on their handheld devices, e.g. mobile or Blackberry, but adoption of the software for handheld devices has been slower than anticipated therefore the focus has switched to providing e-catalogues at events.
The UK Wine Show is sponsored by ThirtyFifty. Our team of wine tasters are busy entertaining and educating UK consumers to help them get the most out of wine.
The music used for the UK Wine Show is Griffes de Jingle 1 by Marcel de la Jartèle and Silence by Etoile Noire.
