Producer

South African producer Laibach is located on the slopes of the Simonsberg just 10 kilometres north of Stellenbosch. The Laibach family have been practising sustainable winegrowing here since 1994, while this wine farm can be traced back as far as 1818. Today the 37 hectares of vineyards have been replanted and a new state-of-the-art winery was built in 1996 and has an underground maturation cellar. Petra Laibach-Kuehner was the driving force behind converting the vineyards to organic farming methods at the beginning of this century.

Full-bodied with good chunky tannins that go down well with a rich hearty meal. You can tell these wines have seen oak by the toasty, vanilla aromas as opposed to full-on fruit. You’ll find Rioja and similar styles within this section.
