Conservatives win UK election, what next for wine taxes?
The Conservative party, led by Boris Johnson, has won the 2019 General election by a solid majority and will now be in a position to implement their drinks industry plans.
For the wine trade the Conservatives have promised to re-align the UK duty rates to ensure the tax system is supporting British drinks producers. But, this is likely to mean tax increases on wine and either no change or decreases to the UK's dominant beer and spirits industry.
