Carl was the perfect host...everybody said how good he was about explaining how to taste wine properly, why different wines tasted the way they did & explaining how champagne was made...really interesting. I had the most memorable 60th Birthday so a big thankyou to Carl for the presentation & for you for all the help along the way with organising.

Thank for running a lovely, memorable evening last Saturday, we all had a thoroughly enjoyable time. You pitched the commentary spot on, with just the right mix of technical and less formal information to fit with the mixed level of expertise in the room - a very neat trick to pull off.
A very minor observation, one or two people would have been happy to run a slightly quicker through one or two of the wines, perhaps overlapping the conversation and the tasting a bit more - but I think this is probably unavoidable with a mixed group of 20 people and certainly not a critisism.
Thanks for the tasting notes and I've subscribed to your podcast too. I couldn't see anywhere to leave comments on your website but would be very happy to record a 5 star review if I've missed the link or you use any of the other review platforms, please just let us know.

A brief note to say thank you to you and Helen for organising an excellent event on Saturday evening at Maggie's 50th celebrations and asking you to specifically pass on our thanks to Helen for providing such an interesting evening
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tasting and commented on how well Helen presented it and her knowledge of the subject - the wines went down very well and the party afterwards lasted until well after midnight.
The wine selection was excellent and we enjoyed the New Zealand dessert wine served at the end of the event - a great way to finish off.
We do have one question - can you tell us what the two wines presented for the blind tasting were? - we enjoyed them too much to take any notes of the names!

I utilised ThirtyFifty for a home wine tasting to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had ten people present and the expert (and she unquestionably was) who represented the organisation was Rachael, who had travelled across from Leeds
We didn't particularly know what to expect, and not everyone in our group are regular wine drinkers (including myself) but Rachael was superb throughout: friendly, incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of the wine industry and made the whole evening an incredibly enjoyable experience
If you're looking to do something slightly different then I would without hesitation recommend ThirtyFifty - and would specifically recommend Rachael in a heartbeat.

A big thank you for reshuffling everything to accommodate Ron’s birthday bash.
We had such a great evening, made extra special by the relationship that Chris formed with everyone. He actually made a comment at the end, that he had enjoyed being with us, which was lovely.
His relaxed/informal approach, coupled with the knowledge and fun element ensured everyone had a great evening. I have received some lovely comments from our guests on a) the choice of holding a wine tasting evening and b) Chris’s hosting skills.

We had a wonderful evening. Helen was fantastic - everyone gave glowing reviews after she had left. Made us feel really relaxed, and she joined in with our banter/silliness and blended into the group seamlessly. We loved the wines and felt the cheese portions were really generous - very good value for money! Some proper learning and lots of fun. Cannot praise her enough really! Also, from an organiser's point of view I thought you and Helen were both great to work with - I contacted a few other companies to price compare etc and your responses filled me with so much confidence that we were going to be looked after and have great service that it was easy to choose ThirtyFifty over the others. It was a superb evening managed brilliantly by Robert who maintained a lovely balance between allowing us to chat over the wines and imparting lots of interesting facts and tips!
The quizzes were great fun and the majority of us lighter wine drinkers were surprised by the red Catena wine being the star bottle of the night, above the whites and sparkling!
I would definitely do it again for another occasion and absolutely have no hesitation in recommending you to friends/family. I haven't stopped receiving thanks yet from my friends for the evening whom I know all had a wonderful time!

Our wine tasting evening was superb!
It was everything we'd hoped for and more! That was mainly down to Mark!
I asked for a fun, informative tasting and it was. Not remotely pretentious as has been the case with previous tastings I'd been too.
Pitched perfectly! The right mix of fact, humour, anecdotes, quiz and amusing 'practicals' to keep it interactive and get all involved!

Well, what can I say? Mark was absolutely brilliant; such good fun. I don't think he knew what he had let himself in for with us! From the start he was professional and helpful with the set up, while I was running round like a rabbit in headlights preparing for my best friends surprise party. The information was informative but given with a sense of humour. The wines were fantastic (apart from in my opinion the Viogner). I assumed wrongly that as we were 'wine tasting' it would be just that, a taste. However it was plentiful. The weather was not kind to us, but on Marks instructions we started the evening off outside while it was just about dry. Luckily we had large gazebos, as soon there was torrential rain, thunder and lightening, but in true British style, we carried on regardless, which actually added to the evening! Mark stayed much longer than was intended, due to us being rather rowdy!! However I think he enjoyed it as much as we did. There has been nothing but praise for both him and ThirtyFifty from all my guests and I have asked them all to leave kind reviews.

Jane it was superb! Antony was fantastic - personable & knowledgeable. Some of the group are already thinking of doing similar parties for family birthdays they have coming up (e.g a dad's 70th).
We fielded loads of questions to him & he was able to answer them - from the grape in a particular variety of wine to the most expensive wine he's ever drunk! So it was suited to all party members with different interests & knowledge.

Saturday was absolutely fantastic. We all had a fabulous time and David was great - he made it all a lot of fun and very interesting. He is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions...of which there were many on a whole variety of wines and champagnes. Hi Jane,
Saturday night with Camilla was fantastic, we all had a great night and she accommodated our group perfectly. We had a few party games running while the tasting was happening and she kept us all interested and light-hearted at the same time. We would definitely invite her back for the next one.
We decided against opening the 1973 bottle as we thought it would be a waste after drinking so much. Andy was very impressed and is saving it for a special occasion.

I just wanted to let you know how much everyone enjoyed last night. You did an excellent job and pitched it just right for us all. Everyone has commented how much they enjoyed trying the different wines, learning about the different grape varieties and understanding more about identifying the different individual subtle aromas. We were treated to a Champagne and Sparkling Wine tasting evening last Saturday evening by our Son and Daughter as a 60th Birthday present. We didn't really know what to expect but as the weather was so nice we held it in the garden and Helen was really knowledgeable and made it a really enjoyable evening. Our friends and family that took part all have told us how much they enjoyed the evening, especially as one of them never really drank Champagne much but has now got the taste for it. We certainly learnt a lot from her and got to taste some wines that we would not normally buy.

Our tutor was really knowledgeable as well as welcoming and this made it really easy to enjoy and find out more. There was plenty of time for questions and the food was also delicious. With regards to the wine tasting; we had a fantastic time. To be honest, I think we were expecting it to be interesting but were all shocked at how much fun it was too. We really enjoyed the different drinks and games and were amazed at Sam’s knowledge. We’ve been reciting some of the facts to our friends, who are equally impressed. The information and details that we learned was really interesting and helped generate some good conversation.
