Fleurieu Peninsula is a 'coathanger'-shaped strip of land bounded by water and located 30km towards the Southern Ocean from McLaren Vale. It is 300m higher than McLaren Vale and, being closer to the sea, it is also cooler by up to five degrees Celsius.
