This show was published Friday, July 2, 2010

Overview

Pegasus Bay is a top winery in Canterbury, New Zealand run by the Donaldson family. In this interview with Ivan Donaldson we find out how the region has developed over the last 20 years.

Ivan Donaldson came to Waipara, Canterbury in the South Island of New Zealand in 1985 to set up family business Pegasus Bay. Ivan was one of the first to establish a vineyard in the area which is now a thriving wine region and equal in size to Central Otago. The main focus at Pegasus Bay is Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir but they also produce an excellent Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon blend which has been highly rated by US critic Robert Parker who has also rated the winery as one of New Zealand's top 5 producers.
