- Planting Vineyards with Volker Scheu from VinPlant
Overview
VinPlant is a company that plants vineyards for producers across the whole of Europe. We caught up Volker Scheu while he was busy planting up the Rathfinny Estate vineyards in Sussex. Volker tells us about the equipment he uses, including a tractor that is guided by satellite and plants each vine within an accuracy of 15mm. Amazingly they can plant up to 12,000 high-grafted plants a day and as many as 20,000 short-grafted plants. As well as Rathfinny, they have also planted for Camel Valley, Chapel Down and many other vineyards in the UK.
