The Drinks Business with Patrick Schmitt

The Drinks Business magazine and website thedrinksbusiness.com focus on the international wine and spirits industry, as well as beers, for the on and off trade. Editor Patrick Schmitt talks to us about the Drinks Business, its history and some of the recent coverage, including its annual survey of the most powerful wines and spirits brands of the world. The magazine has a print run of between 11,000 to 15,000 copies per month but there is also a specific title for the Hong Kong and Asian trade with 6,000 to 7,000 copies a month. They also run The Drinks Business Awards which have been going for the past 10 years as well as various wine and spirit events for the trade to attend. Patrick tells us about a new competition for wines and how the judging will work differently to other competitions.
