- Nick Wenman of Albury Vineyards on Brexit and English Grappa
Overview
Nick Wenman of Albury Vineyards about Brexit and what he expects to happen as a small winery in England.
Nick talks about requirements for manual labour in the vineyard throughout the year, during the growing season (canopy management) and at harvest time. As well as contract workers from Romania/Eastern Europe, Nick has a team of local volunteers who come along to pick grapes. We discuss how Brexit may change things and how the UK fruit industry is reliant on migrant workers.
Nick tells us how they make a tiny amount of grappa from grape juice distilled by their neighbours Silent Pool.
