- The Wine Guild Education with Tim Short
Overview
Tim gives us a background to how the guild was established in the 1980s as a not for profit charity. Their education programmes are aimed at employers in the hospitality sector, seeking training for their staff.
We talk about the UK government's apprenticeship levy. If your company payroll is less than £3m payroll you may be eligible for government funding for training in the form of apprenticeship schemes. The 1 Year Hospitality Professional Course qualifies for Levy funding as a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Hospitality. The course costs £4,500 which would be paid for by the government if you are eligible.
They also have shorter 6 week courses - the Fast Track Hospitality Service: Multi-Tasking Revenue Generation and Wine Service - and a one day introductory course. The guild's course leader is Veronique Bonnefoy.
