- Spotlight on Chardonnay
Overview
Chardonnay is planted all over the world as it is one of the easier grape varieties to grow. It is an early budding variety and in cool climates tends to produce green, citrus fruit characters. In warmer and hot climates more tropical fruit flavours develop. Chris talks about the winemaking techniques producers use with Chardonnay to create different styles, such as barrel fermentation, malolactic fermentation (malolactic conversion) and lees ageing.
