- Co-ops with Nathalie Estribeau from Vignoble Foncalieu
Overview
Nathalie Estribeau is head winemaker at Vignoble Foncalieu located in the Languedoc, the biggest wine region in France producing 50m hectolitres of wine and including sub-regions such as Corbieres and Minervois. The region stretches south from Bordeaux and Rhone Valley down through the Massif Central to the Mediterranean coast and Pyrenees mountains in the South of France. Nathalie explains the co-op system and how it works from the production of wines through to selling in different channels. They are owned by 800 growers/families and there are 4 main wineries (and others) who make the wine and sells the wine for the growers. We touch on sustainable viticulture, organic grape growing and irrigation.
