The Online Wine Tasting Club with Alex Taylor and Jamie Smith Part 1
This show was published 20 May 2022
Alex and Jamie set up the Online Wine Tasting Club after Covid lockdowns hit the UK in March 2020 and they had no choice but to take their newly formed wine business online. They started out by bottling the wine into small glass bottles but soon came up with a highly innovative packaging format - a plastic pouch in cardboard that would fit through letterboxes, a feature which was absolutely key to the concept in order to keep postage costs to a minimum and to maximise the convenience factor.
They now provide a successful and award-winning subscription service of their own and have won contracts to co-pack for larger wine companies to let their customers try before they buy. Consumers can join events live or catch up on online, with the wines delivered to their homes through the post.
We find out how they initially developed the pack format and the machinery needed to scale up production.
The UK Wine Show is sponsored by ThirtyFifty. Our team of wine tasters are busy entertaining and educating UK consumers to help them get the most out of wine.
