- Vineyard Magazine with Jamie McGrorty
Overview
The Vineyard Magazine is published by Kelsey Media and launched in 2018, aimed at UK wine growers and wine makers.
The magazine is a spin off, sister magazine to South East Farmer which has been in publication for 40 years. In 2017 there was a big government push to promote UK wine exports. As an example, Hush Heath Estate were looking for growers to grow grapes on contract for export to Canada and there were many fruit farmers exploring whether they could plant grapes successfully. The publishing house, seeing no other magazine really focusing on UK wine growing, saw an opportunity for a wine magazine to support growers of vines right through from planting the vine through to selling the wines on shelf. It is advertising led, with free subscription for industry and farming community. They also collaborate with trade association Wine GB.
On 23rd November 2022 they will be hosting a vineyard and winery show in Maidstone, Kent for famers with 80 trade stands, seminars and masterclasses. They will have the top 50 UK wines available to taste as well as the top 50 wines rated by their resident wine columnist Matthew Jukes (Daily Mail wine critic).
