NFTs and WineChain with Guillaume Jourdan

Overview

WineChain is a platform for buying and selling fine wines via NFT (non-fungible token) and blockchain technology. Wineries sell their wines directly to private clients on WineChain. Each bottle comes from the winery with a proof tag that corresponds to the NFT, so that when you purchase the NFT you have the property rights to the wine. Your ownership is registered through the blockchain and when you buy through NFT you have the opportunity to have it cellared and the wine can aged perfectly, stored in perfect condition.

WineChain works with high end wineries producing luxury wines, such as Fleur de Miraval and Cos d'Estournel. Selling with NFT gives back the power to the wineries in identifying exactly who is buying their wines vs the traditional way of selling through a distributor. Producers can also attach other services to the NFT such as vineyard visit or a limited virtual edition of the wine label artwork. This might then be used in your future metaverse, for example. Guillaume explains how buyers are protected by the blockchain where every detail of the wine purchased is recorded. WineChain uses Ethereum technology/software for their application.
