In this interview we're with Maison Mirabeau talking to Thierry Laurence, Managing Director for France, and Tessa Henderson, Finance Director.

Mirabeau is a leading producer of rosé in Provence - we met up in Cotignac where they operate their original wine boutique. Stephen and Jeany Cronk moved to France in 2009 and set up Mirabeau in 2010, with a deal to sell the first 10,000 bottles to Waitrose in the UK. They didn't establish a vineyard at first, but instead worked with local growers and co-operatives to create 'Classic' which they then followed up with 'Pure'. In 2016, the brand got traction, helped by a YouTube video from Stephen which went viral with 11 million views on how to open a bottle of wine with a shoe!

In 2019, the Cronks acquired their own Domaine in La Garde-Freinet in the commune du Golfe de Saint-Tropez. They produce a reserve wine at the Domaine which is regenerative organic certified (ROC) but continue to outsource 95% of their wines to growers in the region. They have teamed up with 7 regenerative suppliers to produce a wine branded 'One Day' and launched in 2025.

We touch on how they fared during Covid, managing stock and distribution channels, and how Mirabeau is embracing regenerative winemaking and sustainability.
