IWC releases finalists
IWC released the Champion wine finalists this week to be announced at the annual dinner on Thursday 16th July. Champion status is only awarded to 1 Red, White, Sparkling, Fortified and Sweet wine from the thousands of IWC entrants. 10 Wines are on the shortlist for Champion Red. Switzerland are a first time trophy winner with a Syrah and a Chardonnay and are up against France, Australia, Spain and Italy in this category. East Sussex-based Court Garden’s Garden Vintage Blanc De Blancs 2010 is in with a chance of winning Champion Sparkling wine. Hungary, Greece, Austria and Switzerland are all countries joining Australia, France, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa and Spain for the Champion White.
