Drinks Trust helping hand with fuel payment
With rising heating costs, the Wine and Spirits Charitable foundation The Drinks Trust is offering fuel grants worth up to £350, to help those in the drinks trade who have fallen on hard times.
The Drinks Trust is a charity which, since 1886 until 2020, was known as The Benevolent, but whose mission is to help the current and previous long-term employees of the wine and spirit trade facing hardship.
With 3.2 million workers in the UK hospitality industry, The Drinks Trust estimates that 192,000 workers will use the prepaid meter payment method, which is directly correlated to fuel poverty.
The Drinks Trust needs to raise £350,000 to fund the inititive and is asking the industry’s businesses, brands and agencies to rally behind the campaign and show their support by pledging a donation towards the Fund.
