UK Government extends alcohol duty-freeze for six months

In December the UK government postponed their plan to increase alcohol duty until 2023. Usually duty rises on the 1st February each year, but a new announcement will be made in the Spring Budget on the 15th March.

Any changes are expected to be implemented on the 1st August 2023 with the likelihood they will move from a flat duty rate to a rate that is based upon the alcohol level of the drink.
