Restaurant wines offer least value at mid range
A study of 249 London restaurants have found that the lowest margins on a wine list tend to be at the cheaper end and at the top end. The worst value is in the middle.
The American Association of Wine Economists study compared the prices of 249 London wine lists against prices on wine searcher websites. They found that the cheapest and most expensive wines on the list had the lowest mark ups, with wines priced in the middle of the list having the biggest profit margins.
