Ireland’s proposed health warning for alcohol leave EU countries furious

Ireland's proposed health warning for alcohol has caused problems for 13 of the EU's major wine producing nations.

The proposed labels state a link between alcohol and cancer as well as not being suitable for someone who is pregnant.

France, Italy and Spain were among 13 countries criticising the labels at the European wine trade body CEEV. However the European Commission believes the Irish are within their rights to make labelling decisions for their own home market.
