International Wine Challenge changes hands
After 19 years under William Reed's ownership, the International Wine Challenge (IWC) will now be run by IWC Events Limited, owned by Chris Ashton. This historic shift marks the first time the IWC will operate as a stand-alone business.
William Reed has decided to focus on its World's 50 Best portfolio, passing the reins of the prestigious wine competition to Ashton, who has been involved with the IWC since 2000.
Ashton plans to uphold the IWC’s two-round judging system while introducing new technology and developments, particularly in the sake category. With Ashton's long-standing connection to the IWC, the future looks bright for the competition, which remains one of the most respected wine endorsement schemes globally.
