BBC4 wine series begins
The BBC4 documentary series about wine began this week focusing on a year in the life of Berry Bros & Rudd, the UK's oldest wine merchant. The programme gave a great insight into how the company go about purchasing wine from producers in Bordeaux and Burgundy.
The second episode will be aired on 23 February, entitled The Faith, and will concentrate on the 2008 growing season at Chateau Margaux, one of the five first growths of Bordeaux.
The final programme, The Future, features retired professor Oupa Rangaka of M'Hudi Wines in Stellenbosch, the first black-owned vineyard in South Africa – and Mark Solms, neuroscientist-turned-winemaker of Franschoek's Solms-Delta.
