Vinopolis gets a multi-million pound facelift

Vinopolis, Britain’s biggest consumer wine tasting venue, is investing in a multi-million pound refurbishment. The south London venue, is closing its wine tour in order to complete an overhaul of the tour’s internal layout, design and build.

Millions have visited the decade old wine tasting venue, but the whole format of the tour space is being reviewed. The company aim to make the Vinopolis experience more interactive with modern technology and more links to food and wine matching principles.The new experience will remain as an informal introduction to wine and spirit tasting.

The revamped Vinopolis will include a how to taste wine theatre, a new winery with interactive screens explaining the winemaking process alongside a geography area; tasting zones with Enomatic machines and a host of wine experts will be on hand.

While the refurbishment is being carried out, the on-site restaurants will stay open and masterclasses and events will continue as normal. The venue will be re-launched in October 2012.
