Rowan Gormley on Naked Wines

Rowan Gormley is the founder of Naked Wines. In this second interview we hear how about the small producer strategy that is central to the Naked Wines proposition.

Naked Wines' USP is to invest in and promote smaller producers rather than sell big brand names. Their proposition is based tightly their website, a Web 2.0 community website where customers can chat openly about wines with each other and speak directly with winemakers. Because this means there will be negative as well as positive comments the whole process is extremely open and transparent, hence the name, Naked Wines. Rowan explains how customers, Angels and Arch Angels in effect do the selling of the wines and how the company is helping small, lesser known producers from less famous regions to build their business through their association with Naked Wines.
