- UK Wine Show 603 Sue Tolson on the wines of Hungary
Overview
Chris talks to Sue Tolson on the wines of Hungary. Hungary is known for its sweet wines - Tokaji Aszu in particular - but we find out about other styles consumed in Hungary. Mostly they consume Hungarian wines, which are better value vs imported wine.
Outside of Tokaji dessert wines, there are 3 important red wine regions including Villány in the South (focused on Bordeaux blends and flagship variety Cabernet Franc) and further north Szekszárd and Eger making reds in the Bulls Blood style. The Balaton region is another dynamic region, producing white wines.
