D3: Alsace: Background: Alsace with Jean Frederic Hugel Part 1
Jean Frederic Hugel tells us about the Hugel family history which dates back to 1639 - 375 years of making wine in Alsace. Hugel is 100% family owned by the 12th generation Jean-Philippe, Marc and Etienne. Alsace is situated on the border between France and Germany and has a long history of territorial disputes. The world famous, now French wine region is best know for its hallmark white grape varieties Gewurtztraminer and Riesling but these have only been planted relatively recently. Jean Frederic explains how Hugel and fellow producers are so absolutely committed to producing world class quality wines.
I thought the questions were excellent, an extremely valuable revision tool. They really helped highlight areas I thought I had revised and understood but clearly had not, which has enabled me to focus on key areas to revisit and study before going into the exam... I think it is a great resource and an essential revision aid for any WSET 3 students wishing to gain a competitive edge and successfully pass the WSET 3 exam.
