D4: Background: Matteo Lunelli on Italian Sparkling wines
In this interview with Matteo Lunelli we focus on the different styles of sparkling wine they make at Ferrari winery.
Bisol is one of their brands, which is for Prosecco Superiore from Valdobbiadene DOCG. Their other Prosecco brand is Jeio which is more about cuvees and positioned as a more light-hearted, joyful brand.
In Trentinto they produce Ferrari Trentodoc, a mountain sparkling wine made to the traditional method (bottle fermented). They produc in a variety of styles, e.g. Brut NV, Demi-Sec, Sec, Rose as well as a vintage range (The Perle Line) and a Cru.
I thought the questions were excellent, an extremely valuable revision tool. They really helped highlight areas I thought I had revised and understood but clearly had not, which has enabled me to focus on key areas to revisit and study before going into the exam... I think it is a great resource and an essential revision aid for any WSET 3 students wishing to gain a competitive edge and successfully pass the WSET 3 exam.
