D1: Packaging: Background: Alex Taylor on the issues with packaging wine into pouches
Alex Taylor of the Online Wine Tasting Company describes the process of re-packaging wine from bottles into aluminium film pouches and the challenges they have faced in the production of their innovative packs. Alex studied wine making at Plumpton College and so, equipped with the knowledge on how wine is traditionally bottled, he has overcome many technical issues associated with re-packing wine, such as ensuring the wine's integrity is preserved and the wine is safe for consumption. They have also been testing how the wines have aged in the pouches and making adjustments to improve every aspect of the process.
I thought the questions were excellent, an extremely valuable revision tool. They really helped highlight areas I thought I had revised and understood but clearly had not, which has enabled me to focus on key areas to revisit and study before going into the exam... I think it is a great resource and an essential revision aid for any WSET 3 students wishing to gain a competitive edge and successfully pass the WSET 3 exam.
