D3: Southern Rhone: Background: Southern Rhone with Christophe Jaume from Alain Jaume
Christophe tells us about Southern Rhone wine regions, including Lirac, Gigondas and Cotes du Rhone. We explain the three quality levels of Cotes du Rhone, Cotes du Rhone Villages and Cotes du Rhone with the village name specified on the label. In the appellation there are many different styles, from the Alain Jaume wines which are Cru quality with lower yields and heavier concentration to the softer, fruitier less intense styles available. The appellation is about 90% red, 10% white.
I thought the questions were excellent, an extremely valuable revision tool. They really helped highlight areas I thought I had revised and understood but clearly had not, which has enabled me to focus on key areas to revisit and study before going into the exam... I think it is a great resource and an essential revision aid for any WSET 3 students wishing to gain a competitive edge and successfully pass the WSET 3 exam.
